Take a look at our mini video diary of the days events.
As part of Courier Logistics 20th anniversary celebrations the Directors and Staff have committed, not one, but two teams to complete this years “Ben Nevis Challenge” which takes place on the 7 June 2014 . The challenge involves scaling Ben Nevis, a 25 mile cycle ride and canoeing 3km around Loch Lochy, yes all in one day!
The teams are made up of Directors and Staff from Courier Logistics and all are training hard to be
fit for the day! It is hoped that sponsorship for the teams will raise much needed funds for ‘The Children’s Hospital Charity’. The Children’s Hospital Charity are working to raise £10m towards the expansion of The
Children’s Hospital (Sheffield) through their make it better campaign, you can read more by clicking here. If you would like to support Courier Logistics in their efforts to raise money for this charity, please click on the link to our just giving page. All donations will be gratefully received and please leave a message of support for the teams.
We are once again proudly supporting the fantastic ‘Mission Christmas’ cash for kids campaign. Not only are we a drop off point but we will collect donations from our customers free of charge and deliver the goods on their behalf to the cash for kids charity. We hate to think that some children will wake up Christmas morning without a gift from Santa, so please if you are able to donate a gift, drop it in to our Rotherham branch or give it to your collection driver.

Chairman of APC Overnight, Quentin Abel, said;“The appointment of Karl as CEO allows APC Overnight to continue the success and rapid growth experienced over recent years. Karl not only brings a wealth of industry experience to this role, but also allows us to maintain continuity, having been a part of the network for 15 years, and part of our board of directors for the last two years. This is extremely important as we approach our peak period.“
“This year has arguably been the biggest in our company’s history, having seen the unveiling of our new £16.5 million national sortation centre, plus a host of award wins. What is important now is that we don’t stand still, Karl’s appointment is an exciting one for our business.“
Karl Brown, the new Chief Executive Officer at APC Overnight commented: “It is real honour to take up my new position at a time when the business has been performing so well. Some extremely high standards have been set by our business over recent years, and I wish to ensure this level of ambition is something we continue to maintain.“
“Whilst I hope to bring new strategic direction to the APC Overnight network in order for our growth to continue, I am keen to ensure this is done in a measured and sustainable manner. By focusing on the delivery of high service levels for our customers and the support of each and every one of our depots, I have no doubt we will be able to bring more success to the business.“
Karl’s predecessor, Syed Ziaullah, has taken the decision to step down from the CEO position for personal reasons.
Nigel Parkes, the MD of Midlands-based Pallet-Track describes how business has never been so good for the oldest technology in the supply chain.
To many people the pallet is a mundane, everyday item that is either illegally dumped at the road side, in a canal or used to build bonfires once a year. However, in real terms, the humble pallet simply makes the world go round Click here to read on
With winter around the corner and considering the good old unpredictable British weather, we are making plans to ensure our vehicles are as ready as can be. As well as the shovels and salt already supplied we have also invested in snow socks (not for the drivers feet and not of the woolly kind!!) the socks are designed to be reusable and are to be fitted to the vehicle tyres to create friction and keep us moving should we have heavy snow fall.
Excitement is in the air as we prepare for our 20th year of trading. From two small ageing vans and one big ambition to a fleet of 44+ vehicles, 6 core services and over 100 big ambitions. We are currently working on celebration ideas some of which will include staff and customers alike.
Ten Million and Counting – and still no losses
