This week APC has seen unprecedented volumes of freight going through the network which has surpassed even Christmas numbers, generally the busiest time of the year. This has been whilst adhering to government guidelines for social distancing across all aspects of the business.This has certainly been challenging to service the increased demand in freight whilst maintaining Health & Safety at the forefront of how we continue to operate, something which the whole logistics sector has experienced this week due to unprecedented demand in the B2C market. 

At all the depot’s and main hub we are striving to do everything within our power to move as much of freight as safe as possible. All available staff are assisting to make deliveries out in the field. While APC are endeavouring to do everything they can to make sure that parcels are delivered next day it is important that we are realistic that with the Health & Safety measures in place and unprecedented volumes this may cause possible delays. We would recommend that receivers are told that there could be up to a 48 hours delay for reasons mentioned. 

Temporary Suspension of Live Fish/Coral Service

Whilst there has been an unprecedented spike in freight moving through the network with immediate effect live fish & coral consignments are temporarily suspended. For the welfare of the live fish, it is best they remain with the sending customer.

Perishable Goods

With the increase in the number of perishables being sent through the network at this moment in time, it is important that businesses despatch mindfully – ideally phasing volumes across the week. Please be aware that sending high volumes at any one time of perishable goods is done so at the senders own risk as some depots may not achieve a next day service.
